Continuing to equip entrepreneurs in our community in new and innovative ways.
Catapult announced a partnership with TheShop.build to build and operate the future Maker Space within Catapult’s new facility. TheShop.build is based out of San Francisco and is a hybrid of a maker space, startup incubator, innovation hub, and membership-based workshop facility for makers, engineers, entrepreneurs, students, and artists to create and have access to high-tech tools. They will operate the 9,000-square-foot maker space which will include laser cutters, computer-controlled equipment, and 3D printers.
After Hurricane Irma severely damaged the initial planned renovations to the 1924 Cash Feed Building which overlooks Lake Mirror, Catapult is breaking ground on the construction of their new 38,000-square-foot facility in September 2019. The Lakeland Economic Development Council (LEDC), GiveWell Community Foundation, and the City of Lakeland are also all working alongside Catapult to open the new space. The rest of the space will consist of coworking and private offices as well as a commissary kitchen.
Catapult exists to equip entrepreneurs, and this expansion will be a continued effort to do just that in an even greater capacity.
